2 HAL UNIT 2700

2700 was a hybrid 2 Hal unit formed in 1955 and consisting of a spare all-steel 4 Sub saloon motor coach and a newly built driving trailer composite similar in layout the 2693-2699 2 Hal units.  The unit was originally deployed on the Eastern Section, joining the Maidstone-Gillingham 2 Hal fleet.  It transferred to the Central/Western section pool of 2 Bil/2 Hal units from about 1957 until it was disbanded in 1968.

What's in the box -

This Eastleigh Model Rail 2 Hal unit 2700 kit gives you all the 4mm scale 3D printed parts you need to build a complete (unpowered) 2-car unit - sides, ends, roofs, interiors, underframes and bogies.

What else you'll need -

  • Couplings - 1 pair of Symoba close couplers, plus your choice of NEM inter-unit couplers if you intend to operate the unit in multiple with other Southern Electric stock.

  • A motor bogie.

  • Wheels and bearings - the bogies are dimensioned to accommodate '00', 'EM' or 'P4' gauge 14mm disc wheelsets with standard 26mm 'pinpoint' axles and the sideframes have holes to fit brass 'top hat' wheel-bearings.

  • 8BA/M2 nuts and bolts.

  • Glazing

  • Paints and transfers
