Q23 Driving Motor

£115.00 inc vat

Ordered in 1923 and delivered a year or so later, these cars, originally classified ‘G’ stock, were reclassified ‘Q23’ stock when they were converted from passenger-operated sliding doors to automatic air door operation and fitted with electro-pneumatic brakes as part of London Transport’s 1935/40 New Works programme.  Some survived until the end of Q stock operations on the East London Line in 1971.
Two of the Q23 conversions were given driving cabs at both ends to operate solo on the Acton Town-South Acton shuttle.  A double-ended version of the Eastleigh Q23 kit is available on request.
